About
If you ever see me with my friends, you would probably hear me discussing Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 9, crying about non-convex optimization, or arguing about the moral implications of the trolley problem. Anyways, heres a little bit about me.
About me
Who are you?
- I’m Kevin, a junior at The Johns Hopkins University. I like playing piano, cooking good food, and going places. My most recent trip was to the Grand Canyon and Zion National Park, where I got to see the wonders of American nature.
Where are you from?
- I’m originally from Korea, but I moved to Massachusetts for high school. Now I live in Maryland.
What skills do you have?
- I’m comfortable with most languages, which include C, C++, Java, JavaScript, and Python. I’ve also worked with different tech stacks, such as the MERN Stack for web dev, and PyTorch and TensorFlow for machine learning. I’m familiar with a lot of tools such as Bash and Git. I’ve developed in Mac, Windows, and Linux, although I prefer Linux heavily.
What do you do in your free time?
- I like to play piano, compose music, or go biking. I generally spend a lot of time with friends or teach myself new skills. Recently I’ve been learning to cook new dishes. I always love to explore new flavors, and my friends love my cooking.
Where does your tagline “Imagining Sisyphus happy.” come from?
- This is a paraphrase of a quote by one of my favorite authors, Albert Camus. In his essay The Myth of Sisyphus, he concludes that “One must imagine Sisyphus happy”. This has resonated with me for all my life, so now I use it as my tagline. If you ever catch me somewhere, then please ask about this!
About this site
How did I make this site?
- I used Hugo, a static-site builder. The website is hosted as a GitHub Page. This makes CI (or whatever you call updating my site) seamless.
Is it hard to learn?
- Not at all! You can get started very easily. Personally It took me a morning to set this site up, but it may take shorter or longer depending on the features you need.
